RIGA, June 7 (LETA) - At the beginning of this year, the largest population by age in Latvia was aged 38 and 39, according to information provided by the Central Statistical Bureau.

At the beginning of this year, Latvia had 1,845,096 inhabitants. Of these, 988,497 were women and 856,599 were men.

At the beginning of this year, the largest number of the population - 29,498 - was 38 years old, including 15,207 men and 14,291 women. On the other hand, 29,348 were 39 years old at the beginning of the year, including 15,163 men and 14,185 women. Another 28,453 were 42 years old, including 14,786 men and 13,667 women.

There were also 257 persons aged 100 and over at the beginning of the year. Of these, 226 were women and 31 were men.
